Mekeni brings food and essential supplies to three Pampanga care institutions

PAMPANGA — Mekeni Food Corporation and its employees extended support to three care institutions in Mabalacat City and the City of San Fernando through the company’s annual community gift-giving initiative on October 30, 2026.

The beneficiaries were Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth in Mabalacat City, and Bahay Pag-ibig and Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness in the City of San Fernando.

Donations included food products, essential supplies, clothing, toiletries, and other necessities to help meet the daily needs of children and residents under the institutions’ care.

Employees also made personal financial and in-kind contributions, adding to the company’s donations and making the outreach a shared effort across the organization.

“For us at Mekeni, giving back is not simply an annual activity. It is a reflection of who we are as a company and the values we stand for,” said Mekeni President Pruds Garcia.

Garcia said employee participation makes the initiative more meaningful, bringing the company’s commitment to community service into practice through individual acts of generosity.

Marilou Uy, Assistant Vice President for HR and Exports, highlighted the importance of nurturing a workplace where compassion and social responsibility are shared values.

HR Head Apple Garcia said the program gives employees an opportunity to extend their generosity beyond the workplace.

“Every contribution, regardless of size, represents care, hope, and a genuine desire to help others,” she said.

Rooted in the Filipino value of malasakit, the annual activity forms part of Mekeni’s continuing corporate social responsibility efforts. The company said it remains committed to supporting the communities that have been part of its growth for more than three decades.
