A taste of Vigan, without the long drive

One of the highlights of our visit was the Vigan Empanada, the famous Ilocano snack known for its crispy shell and savory filling. Served freshly prepared, it is the kind of regional delicacy that immediately reminds food lovers of the bustling streets and food stalls of Vigan.

We also sampled Dinakdakan, a popular Ilocano pork specialty; Igado, a traditional dish prepared with pork and innards; and Vigan Kikiam ala Vigan Bites, the establishment’s own version of another familiar local favorite.

The food experience extended beyond these specialties, with an inviting spread of rice meals, savory dishes, and other Filipino comfort-food offerings.

Together, the dishes presented a satisfying introduction to the hearty, distinctive flavors associated with Ilocano cooking.
